CHANGE IN HOME-BASED OFFLINE LEARNING MODALITY DELIVERY

Starting Term 2, SY 2020-2021
Please be advised that starting Term 2, SY 2020-2021, all learning modules and materials for home-based offline learners will be sent as soft copies (in PDF format) through their official DLSAU account. In the same manner, all PETA, assessment, and other requirements must be submitted/returned as soft copies (in PDF format) through the same email account.

The decision was reached after long and thoughtful deliberation, with the following reasons taken into consideration:

1. Safeguarding of the health and safety of our students and personnel. With COVID-19 still affecting thousands of individuals and families especially in Metro Manila, we would like to help prevent the spread of the virus to our students, personnel, and faculty by minimizing their face-to-face contact in the sending and receiving of modules/learning materials/requirements.

2. Reduction of paper waste and environmental impact. In line with our environmental protection advocacies, we are encouraging paperless processes and transactions wherever we can and strongly endorsing the use of alternative learning tools and platforms to our students instead.

3. Improvement in procedural effectiveness and efficiency. Based on feedback from our faculty and students, the sending and receiving of learning materials and requirements will be more efficient if done online. The quick turnaround time also effectively facilitates faculty feedback on learner submitted assignments, tests, and tasks.

4. Cost-effectiveness and convenience. The sending of soft copies of learning modules and requirements is more convenient and cost-effective for students and parents, as they do not have to pay and wait for the delivery of their learning materials.

Please be guided accordingly.

  • 1. Lead times will be observed for all requests. The lead times take into account challenges in Internet connectivity, sourcing of resources (ie applicable photos), incomplete/inaccurate information provided by requesting unit, and proofing of text for correctness and accuracy.

    • a. Approval/Revision/Cascading of layouts: 3 -5 working days
    • b. Banner announcements of events/activities: 3-5 working days

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS FOR OUTLOOK FOR IOS AND WATCHOS

September 5, 2020
Please be advised that Microsoft is changing the minimum iOS system requirements for Outlook for iOS and watchOS. Outlook for iOS is supported on the two most recent versions of iOS. With iOS 14 currently in beta, Outlook for iOS is preparing to remove support for iOS 12. In addition, once iOS 14 is released to GA, the system requirements for Outlook for iOS will be updated to reflect support for iOS 14. Microsoft will update the minimum system requirements for the Outlook for iOS app from iOS 12 to iOS 13.

Additionally, Microsoft will remove support for watchOS 4 and 5. WatchOS 6 and 7 will be the only supported versions for Apple Watch.

How will this change affect me?

After iOS 14 is released, Outlook devices running iOS 12, or lower will no longer receive Office app updates. At that time, customers will be able to continue to use the older version of Outlook for iOS. Once they update their device to iOS 13 or above, they will receive the newest version of Outlook.

Over time, Outlook for iOS on iOS 12 devices will eventually stop synchronizing email and calendar data, unless they have a supported version of iOS.

This change does not affect anyone using Outlook for iOS apps on iOS 13 or above.

Please be guided accordingly.
