Message from the President
Foremost, I would like to thank the De La Salle Araneta University Board of Trustees for putting their faith and trust in my abilities to handle the incredibly rewarding yet equally challenging role as the new President of DLSAU.
Since coming to university a few years back, I have met many remarkable individuals who have worked tirelessly in the pursuit of the Lasallian mission of “teaching minds, touching hearts, and transforming lives”. These people have motivated me and will undoubtedly continue to inspire me to provide the kind of leadership befitting a Lasallian institution: compassionate, effective, and inclusive.
In the six years that Br. Jun has led the university, DLSAU saw massive and manifold improvements in infrastructure, management, and organizational processes. He encouraged each one of us to listen and hear other people out, to serve selflessly, to practice humility, and to always put the welfare of our students as our main priority. More importantly, Br. Jun urged each one of us to aspire for individual greatness in the service of God and country.
Br. Jun’s legacy is one that is hard to match. He has made De La Salle Araneta University the kind of university that it is today, and my respect and admiration for who he is and all that he has done for the university is immense and profound. As I assume the presidency, the weight of his legacy falls heavily on my shoulders. Rather than be daunted, I would like to assure the community that I will do everything that I can to make sure that all of Br. Jun’s efforts will not become vain and futile.
DLSAU, as a relatively young Lasallian institution, still has a long way to go to achieve its goal of being a GREAT university. The foundations have been laid, but the bigger work lies ahead of us. As we move to the next chapter as a community, I enjoin everyone to work with me so that we could all collectively look back to this day and say that we have made DLSAU even better than what it is today.
Live Jesus in our hearts, forever!
